"The privatization of the MEF stake in Poste Italiane is an economically senseless operation," says Antonio Misiani, senator and economic director of the Democratic Party.

"Minister Giorgetti, in front of the joint committees, hypothesized the sale of the entire MEF stake, equal to 29.26%, with a public presence that would be reduced to 35% in the hands of CDP. Too bad that on January 23, 2024, Minister Urso, responding to a question presented by PD MP Casu, had assured the maintenance of a 51% public shareholding. What is the government's line? Urso's or Giorgetti's? We need to be very clear on this issue. Secondly, there is the financial impact. According to the minister, the savings in terms of lower interest on the debt will be significantly lower than the dividends received by the MEF. It is an admission that confirms all our misgivings. Ours are not accountancy concerns: we are talking about public accounts and the management of state assets. What is needed is a technical report that clearly indicates the estimates of the financial repercussions of the operation and the coverage of the shortfall in revenue that the minister himself has acknowledged in front of the commissions. Thirdly, the government's deliberate privatization is totally unrelated to any industrial policy design. Giorgetti's words have in fact confirmed that it is planned only to make money. Opening up uncertainties about the stability of employment and the network of offices in the territory of a company of primary importance that nevertheless performs a universal public service and a social function in the country". Thus Senator Antonio Misiani, economic director of the Democratic Party. L'articolo Poste, Misiani: "What is the government's line, Urso's or Giorgetti's?" proviene da Partito democratico.
