Zlatko Komadina, the SDP's candidate for another term as primorje-Gorski Kotar prefect, said Sunday that Croatia has made a major contribution to the anti-fascist struggle and victory over fascism in Europe, adding that it is 'a disgrace that two-thirds of young people do not know that the NDH was a fascist creation'.

Komadina held a press conference in Rijeka to present candidates from the list of the SDP-PGS-IDS-HSU-HSS coalition for the County Assembly. He said he was glad that on this day, from a place symbolizing the unification of the county and Rijeka, at the Monument of Liberation on the Delta, he could congratulate all the citizens of the county on the Day of Victory over Fascism and Europe Day.He added that Croatia must celebrate Victory Day with honor because it has made a great contribution to the anti-fascist struggle and victory over fascism in Europe. Any country would be proud of it, and to him, Komadina says, "unfortunately it seems that official state authorities are sometimes ashamed of our honorable history."" It is a shame for Croatia that two-thirds of young people do not know that the NDH was a fascist creation. This is the result of the wrong state policy and a bad education system, to their credit, and we know our history," he argued. Komadina said that Croatia, following the acquisitiveness of the creation of modern Europe, is a member of the EU, and that he can proudly say that primorsko-goranska county is at the top of counties upon withdrawal of EU funds. He believes that projects of schools, hospitals and nursing homes will continue to be nominated and that capital construction funding will continue to be received.
