Contra la destitución de Hugo Gutiérrez

En los primeros días de este año 2020 un grupo de parlamentarios de la coalición Chile Vamos, que sustenta al gobierno del presidente Sebastián Piñera que como sabemos es responsable de una gravísima crisis económica, que produjo manifestaciones muy importantes, reprimidas violentamente causando muertos e innumerables heridos, ha pedido al Tribunal Constitucional la destitución del diputado comunista Hugo Gutiérrez.
En las próximas semanas el Tribunal Constitucional, que es uno de los enclaves autoritarios que perduran de la dictadura y una institución absolutamente desprestigiada, adoptará una resolución basada en inexistentes delitos penales que la derecha atribuye al diputado Gutiérrez.
La derecha chilena, que fue parte de la dictadura de Pinochet entre 1973 y 1990 colaborando en el exterminio del movimiento popular pretende con este acto ignorar el elevadísimo número de votos logrados por Hugo Gutiérrez en las elecciones parlamentarias de 2017 y excluirle del Congreso Nacional a través de dicho Tribunal Constitucional.
Es por esto que el Partido de la Izquierda Europea (PIE) expresa todo su apoyo a nuestro compañero Hugo Gutiérrez, al Partido Comunista de Chile, y al conjunto de la izquierda chilena por esta vulneración del estado de derecho hacia Hugo Gutiérrez, que durante muchos años trabajó ejemplarmente como abogado de Derechos Humanos en la lucha contra la impunidad de los que participaron en la dictadura chilena.

AGAINST THE REMOVAL OF HUGO GUTIÉRREZ
In the first days of this year 2020, a group of parliamentarians from the Chile Vamos coalition, which supports the government of President Sebastián Piñera, who as we know is responsible for a very serious economic crisis that produced very important protests, violently repressed, causing deaths and countless injuries, has asked the Constitutional Court to dismiss the communist deputy Hugo Gutiérrez.
In the coming weeks, the Constitutional Court, which is one of the authoritarian enclaves that lasts from the dictatorship and an absolutely discredited institution, will adopt a resolution based on non-existent criminal offenses that the right attributes to Deputy Gutiérrez.
The Chilean right, which was part of the Pinochet dictatorship between 1973 and 1990 collaborating in the extermination of the popular movement, intends with this act to ignore the very high number of votes achieved by Hugo Gutiérrez in the 2017 parliamentary elections and to exclude him from the National Congress through of said Constitutional Court.
This is why the Party of the European Left (EL) expresses all its support for our comrade Hugo Gutiérrez, the Communist Party of Chile, and the whole of the Chilean left for this violation of the rule of law against Hugo Gutiérrez, who for many years worked as an exemplary Human Rights lawyer in the fight against impunity for those who participated in the Chilean dictatorship.
