In an interview with NEA TELEVISION, the PASOK-Movement for Change President Nikos Androulakis underlined the government's imbecility regarding the rapid increase in the cost of living and the collapse of citizens' purchasing power.

Reducing VAT on basic goods for as long as the crisis lasts and making market checks so that the reduction is passed on to the product and not to the entrepreneur's pocket, is a solution we have put forward. Regarding the new Turkish provocation and the conversion of the Chora Monastery into a mosque, Mr. Androulakis stressed: "Four days before he officially sees the Prime Minister, Mr. Erdogan makes the official inauguration of the Chora Monastery as a mosque. And what Mr. Mitsotakis had to say is that it is an "unnecessary action."  For me it is not an "unnecessary action". It's a huge challenge. It is an insult to these monuments of world culture. It is a disgrace to the Greek Government, Mrs. Von der Leyen and Mr. Michel, who knew since 2020 that Erdogan was planning this, did nothing to prevent it." Is it or is it not an offensive act? It was up to Mr. Mitsotakis, in cooperation with European partners, to send a comprehensive message. Finally, referring to the message of the European ballot box, the PASOK-Movement for Change President noted: "With one stone, two turtle doves: the people can, with a vote of disapproval to New Democracy and a vote of support to PASOK, send a message against government policy,  to have serious opposition today and a serious alternative governance proposal in the next national elections."
