On Friday, 31 January, the Minister of Justice Jānis Bordāns sent the Danish Secretary of Immigration and integration to Mattias Tesfaye for details of the Latvian citizen, Christina's Misāni case.

Bordāns expresses the interest of Latvia in seeking a common solution to stop Mr Misānes from being issued to the Republic of South Africa on the basis of possible harassment of security and human rights. The Ministry of Justice has drawn up and already sent a letter to the Minister of Justice of the Republic of South Africa with a request for consultation of the draft bilateral agreement and to provide information on the time limit within which the competent authorities of the Republic of South_africa Negotiating procedure for concluding the contract.
