"The security of citizens will not be ensured by populists, but by a rational migration policy based on data," Lipavský and Gregorová agreePrague, 25 March 2024 – Minister of Foreign Affairs Jan Lipavský and MEP Markéta Gregorová, both from the Pirates, today presented their positions on the growing migration wave in Europe.

In 2023, European countries received around one asylum application for every 400 inhabitants. However, the current migration system is inadequate and people often slip through it without due process. According to the Pirates, it is therefore necessary to set the rules so that we have a better overview and know who is moving in Europe. According to Pirate politicians, the key to solving the migration issue is an emphasis on European cooperation, the fight against organized crime and the prevention of migration on the ground.
