On 22 August, the deadline for filling the gaps in the last application for registration also expired, thus the final list of candidates was established.

A total of 7 candidates for prime minister, 13 nominating organisations and 265 candidates were registered. In 11 of the country's 106 constituencies, one candidate, two candidates in 45 and three or more candidates in 50 entered the race. On average, most candidates are registered in Hajdú-Bihar county and the fewest in Komárom-Esztergom county. At the end of the registration phase, the national nominating organisations (Liberals, MMM, New Beginnings and ÚVNP) joined the work of the National Preselection Committee, and in the future they will be present at the meetings of the board with the right of consultation. Today, registered candidates can start collecting recommendations. The task is to collect 20,000 valid recommendations for candidates for prime minister and 400 for individual candidates. Recommendations can only be collected on recommendation sheets created by the National Preselection Office. The recommendation valid for individual candidates can only be made by Hungarian citizens with a constituency address and prime ministerial candidates with a Hungarian address. The recommendation sheets must be completed in full and the incomplete recommendations will be rejected by the managing bodies. The sheets of the prime ministerial candidates are checked by the staff of the National Preselection Office and the recommendations of the individual candidates are checked by the members of the local electoral committees. Candidates have two weeks to collect recommendations, with a deadline of 10:00 a.m. on September 6. The recommendations should be verified within 48 hours of the handover, meaning that by 8 September, it is expected that those who may be on the ballot papers in each district will be formed. The first round of the primary will take place from 18-26 September, with both online and in-person voting. DK
