PSD managed to get the Government to ensure testing for students at schoolPSD managed, on Friday, to obtain an important victory in terms of organizing the periodic testing for COVID-19 of students, which will allow keeping schools open and ensuring equal access to education for all children in Romania.After several months of repeated calls from PSD, the Ministers of Education and Health finally agreed to hold the first joint press conference in which they announced, among other things, that they would agree to a procedure for testing students and teachers in schools.

PSD considers that this measure is beneficial both for ensuring non-discriminatory access to education and for preventing and combating the COVID-19 pandemic. It is regrettable, however, that the decision to test the students was unduly delayed. An important period was wasted that would have allowed the schools to organize much better from a sanitary point of view, for the start of the new school year safely.
