In the coming cabinet period, Dutch defence spending must be boosted to the European average.

The ban on abuse of the military uniform must also be enforced more strictly. Derk Boswijk argued for this this week in the defence budget debate. During the debate, Boswijk pleaded for more spending on our Armed Forces. That money should be used for personnel, higher wages and equipment. Boswijk during the debate: "As far as the CDA is concerned, there will be a clear growth path with which spending on defence will be increased as quickly as possible to the NATO standard of 2%. And as far as we are concerned, at least the EU average will be reached in the coming cabinet period." Combating abuse of military uniforms Due to the ongoing abuse of military uniforms during (corona) demonstrations, the CDA submitted a proposal during the debate in which the government is called upon to enforce the ban on this abuse more strictly. "You have to earn to wear a uniform.
