The National People's Front (E.LA.M.) welcomes France's strong presence in Cyprus, the joint exercise between the Armed Forces of the two countries and the presence of the French Armed Forces Minister, Florans Parli, on the island.

At a difficult time for the interests of our country, where Turkish aspirations question the sovereignty and sovereign rights of the Republic of Cyprus, such actions are moving in the right direction. On the other hand, however, the Cypriot Government should not be caught up in communication tricks, but must respect its obligations towards the citizens of this country, building a strong deterrent capability that will shield us against the external advice.
