The PSOE and Unidas Podemos have reached a pre-agreement to form a progressive coalition government that places Spain as a benchmark for the protection of social rights in Europe, just as citizens have decided at the ballot box.

Both formations share the importance of making a commitment to defend freedom, tolerance and respect for democratic values as a guide to government action in accordance with what represents the best European tradition. Details of the agreement will be made public in the coming days. At present, we are working together in a negotiation aimed at completing the structure and operation of the new government that will be governed by the principles of cohesion, loyalty and government solidarity, as well as that of suitability in the performance of the functions. The priority axes of action of the progressive coalition government will focus on responding to the main challenges facing Spanish society as a whole:1.- Consolidate growth and job creation. Combating the precariousness of the labour market and ensuring decent, stable and quality work.2.- Work for regeneration and fight against corruption. Protect public services, especially education – including the push for children's schools for three-year decero, public health and care for dependency. Shielding the pensions of our elders: ensuring the sustainability of the public pension system and its revaluation according to the cost of living. Housing as a right and not as mere merchandise. Bet on science as an engine of economic innovation and dignify the working conditions of the sector. Recover ingessed talent. Control the extension of bookmakers.3.- Combating climate change: the fair ecological transition, the protection of our biodiversity and the guarantee of decent treatment of animals.4.- Strengthen small and medium-sized enterprises and autonomous self-employed enterprises. Drive reindustrialization and the primary sector. Facilitate from the Administration the foundations for the creation of wealth, well-being and employment, as well as the digital impulse.5.- Approval of new rights that deepen the recognition of the dignity of people such as the right to a dignified death, euthanasia, the safeguarding of diversity and ensuring Spain as a country of memory and dignity.6.- Ensuring culture as a right and combating precariousness in the sector. Encourage sport as a guarantee of health, integration and quality of life.7.- Feminist policies: ensuring the safety, independence and freedom of women through the determined fight against sexist violence, equal pay, the establishment of equal and non-transferable paternity and maternity leave, the end of trafficking in human beings for the purposes of sexual exploitation and the development of a Law on labour equality.8.- Reversing depopulation: decided support for the so-called Spain. Guarantee coexistence in Catalonia: the Government of Spain will have as a priority to guarantee coexistence in Catalonia and the normalization of political life. To that end, dialogue will be fostered in Catalonia, seeking formulas of understanding and encounter, always within the Constitution. The State of autonomy will also be strengthened to ensure the proper provision of the rights and services within its competence. We will guarantee equality among all Spaniards.10.- Fiscal justice and budgetary balance. The assessment and control of public expenditure essential for the sustaining of a solid and lasting welfare state. The Government will promote social policies and new rights under Spain's tax responsibility agreements with Europe, thanks to a just and progressive tax reform that brings us closer to Europe and eliminates fiscal privileges.
