Martin Kupka: We have had a black week of digitization in the Czech Republic(www.ods.cz) In the end of the week, the state was able to definitively subvert the empty marketing slogan about "country for future".

The government is trying to cut back on our contacts, and even pushed for a further extension of the state of emergency this week so that it can continue to ban citizens from moving beyond county boundaries. Still, she conceded the start of the Census, Apartments and Houses, during which she sends census commissioners door-to-door to people. At least to those who are unable or unwilling to add up online. A delay of several months would not cause any damage. Not to mention the fact that the state in the census is asking a number of questions that it already knows. What's our highest education, where we lived after birth, why? And the pinnacle of it all – the failure of the online census site right after people woke up this morning. After similar experience this year with vaccination registration and the acquisition of electronic vignettes, this suggests that the state is unedited. After all the months of preparation, the statistical office had to stop the census. In addition, it became clear this week that the basic registers, the backbone of the digitisation of the Czech public administration, are likely to cease to function. Simply because the government of experts has not put a penny into their maintenance in three years. I can't mark all these failures as anything other than a black digitization week in the Czech Republic.Labels: #vnitřní safety #veřejná management #tisková message #zdravotnictví #vláda Andrej Babiš #koronavirus
