Automatically created books are climbing the ranking of best-selling books on Amazon.Il Ecommerce giant in the world of books today dominates about half of the U.S.

book market (and beyond) and since 2007 has allowed anyone to publish a book without the need for a publisher. Amazon does not disdain the AI Author and only if the books "create disappointment in readers" it removes the book from sale, but it does not have a policy expressly against AI-created content even in its guidelines published at the end of last year. During 2024, however, Amazon has decided to prevent a fast-growing phenomenon such as the publication of summary books by others, and to limit to a maximum of three books that can be published from the same account each day, as well as to take action against potentially dangerous books such as mushroom picking guides. But the real artificial business on Amazon is often invisible and doesn't refer to famous authors who can (rightly) complain. The many automated book-making tools often rely on so-called long-tail content such as children's coloring books, sewing pattern texts, or basic guides to using a tool or learning how to do an activity. Tools to create these texts in seconds are proliferating such as AI Book Generator ($9 to create 10 books of 20 pages each), Books by AI (for $1 per book) or Ebook Maker (which claims to have created 180 thousand books). At first glance it would seem like a new business for many individuals and especially for Amazon, limited perhaps only by time and readers' interest.
