Members of the Petrinjsko Spring citizens' initiative invited the members of parliament of the 1st constituency in Petrinj and introduced them to their proposals and comments ahead of the parliamentary debate on amendments to the Reconstruction Act.

SDP deputies Ivana Posavec Krivec and Davorko Vidovic responded to the call, as did Nikola Grmoja (Most), who carefully listened to the remarks and problems encountered in practice so far by citizens killed by the devastating earthquake. As Sanja Lovrenović informed them on behalf of the initiative, they object to articles of the Law that have proved problematic in implementation. For example, it has been warned that agricultural buildings are not covered by the Act, which is a problem for many family farms because the owners of family farms, due to the inability to take out loans, will not be able to independently renovate their facilities. The problem, it said, is those office buildings whose owners do not have registered residence at the address of the facilities. It is also unknown how the Act will treat rented business premises. For replacement residential buildings, construction is supposedly foreseen only in Zagreb, while the Law on Other Areas where disaster has been declared does not address it. It also mentioned the problem of hiring contractors and building materials, which has increased noticeably recently, it said. Among other things, members of the Petrinj Spring have advocated for more effective operation of the building inspection, especially when removing dangerous objects, regardless of their ownership. Construction waste dumps, which are not foreseen, are also a problem in the damaged area of Sisak-Moslavina County. The interview also cited several specific examples in which property owners could not solve the accumulated problems." Members of Parliament warned us that they would only be able to refer their amendments to those articles of the Amending Act, while other articles of the Act would not be debated. Unfortunately, we are not familiar with the changes, so we have to wait for the parliamentary session to hear what the changes are," Lovrenovic said.
