Last night, in the National Assembly, the DeSUS Parliamentary Group repeatedly violated the conclusions of the last DeSUS Party Council, which concluded that the party no longer supported the current Government or its measures, least of all legislatively, because of harmful practices.

However, MPs voted overwhelmingly yesterday in favour of all of the Government's decisions and proposals, including the most controversial ones, including a new law on police tasks that subpoips the National Police Service (NPU) to lead the police, allowing further instrumentalisation and politicisation of the police. Under each subsequent action of hojs ministry, which will shov off the operation of the NPU, the deSUS party will now also stand. This, however, is in marked contrast to the interests and values of DeSUS and constitutes a gross violation of the decisions of the highest body, the Party Council. Such a vote by Members is therefore a direct betrayal of DeSUS, especially its constituents and supporters, and also – we are more convinced of this every day, as the evidence is multiplying – betrays Slovenian national interests, especially in European contexts. Such a vote by Members may be in accordance with their personal interests, but it is in direct contradiction with the interests of the DeSUS party to be represented. I therefore call on the DeSUS Members to stop this arbitrary action without delay, to respect the deSUS decisions taken and commitments, otherwise we will be forced to take the most rigorous measures against them. Ljubo Jasenč, President
