"Access to information and the possibility of communication are essential for the quality of life of all people and for the exercise of the rights conferred on them in democracy, and is obviously not different for the deaf community.
It is up to the State, as enshrined in the Constitution of the Portuguese Republic, to ensure the necessary mechanisms for deaf people to ensure all accessibility to all public services, ensuring equal opportunities, including participation in the democracy of our city.", argues Bebiana Cunha, municipal deputy of the PAN in Porto and deputy to the Assembly of the Republic.
