On the night of May 1, a 30-year-old man was attacked by three men and beaten to death.

According to the report, the young man was out and about with his brother and friends in Paderborn's city center. At around 00:50, the 30-year-old was getting a drink at the nearby kiosk when he was involved in an argument by three men. Suddenly, and for no apparent reason, one of the group took a glass bottle and beat the 30-year-old's head with it. The victim slumped to the ground unconscious and the three suspects continued to kick the head. The trio then fled. The 30-year-old victim was seriously injured and taken to hospital, where he died of his injuries three days later.
