By standing against capitalist exploitation, ecological destruction, political oppression, and criminal wars, against fascism and dictatorship, in resistance to patriarchal domination and discrimination against “others”.We are looking for a communication officer to strengthen our team ahead of the European Parliament elections (and possibly beyond). This is a fixed-term post until the end of July 2024 (possible extension for an indefinite period) based in Brussels. Contract according to Belgium Labour Law, starting ideally by the third week of December 2023 or 1st of January 2024.As Communication Officer your main role is to ensure the visibility and reputation of the European Left Party in the media.We are looking for a proactive person to carry out the following tasks:PRESS RELATIONS– Liaising with the various party entities to establish needs and information to be communicated to the media.– Drafting press releases for the Party of the European Left.– Ensuring media monitoring and press coverage reports.CONTENT EDITOR– In collaboration with the political entities: research, plan, write and edit the content of the website.– Regularly producing content based on the pillars established by the communication manager.– Managing and editing the EL newsletter (gathering information, writing, managing the automation platform).– In cooperation with the editor-in-chief and the editorial team, monitoring the Quistioni magazine, published twice a year by the PGE.EVENT OFFICER– Manage the communications project for an event (establish communication material requirements, contact suppliers, ensure orders are received correctly)– Produce the event’s visual identity in partnership with the graphic designer– Produce and monitor the production of the programme– Covering the event on the EL’s digital platforms: strategy, content planning, recruitment of cameramen, photographers, etc., monitoring and managing the production and publication of content during the event.– Professional command of English language and good command of 2 out of the following 3 languages: French, Spanish and German.– Good knowledge of the European media landscape and at least 2 years’ experience in press relations.– A good knowledge of European public affairs.– Be proactive and autonomous but still a team player– Familiar with WordPress and Mailchimp– Basic technical skills or familiarity with audio visual equipment is an asset– The office is based in BrusselsThis is a political task.
